RunFlat systems​

RunFlat systems, also known as RunFlat inserts are bolted into wheel rim wells and support the tire when flat, absolute zero air, allowing the vehicle to continue driving safely for up to 60km following ballistic or terrain related tire damage in a cross-country circuit incorporating a limited number of ramps, steps, ditches wadi dry river crossing, corrugations deep loose sand patches broken shrubs. Resistant to bullet impact, and designed to fits every type of automobile, SUV or truck. POLYMET run flats are designed to allow continuing driving even if the tires of vehicle have been punctured.

RUNFLAT TIRE INSERTS system

“RUNFLAT TIRE INSERTS system” manufactured by POLYMET Industries LLC – RAK are bolted inside the inner center of tire rim, allows to have continued mobility of installed vehicles in emergencies, such as loss of air pressure. Run Flat inserts also known as RunFlat system are bolted into wheel rim wells and support the tire when flat, absolute zero air, allowing the vehicle to continue driving safely for up to 60km following ballistic or terrain-related tire damage in a cross-country circuit which can be incorporating a number of ramps, steps, ditches wadi, dry river crossing, corrugations, deep loose sand patches, with broken shrubs etc. Run flat tire inserts are highly resistant to bullet impact and are designed and manufactured to fits every automobile, SUV or truck, designed to allow continuing driving even if all the tires of the vehicle have been punctured due to any or combinations.

How run flat insert system

POLYMET with over 20 years of rich experience in polymer science, chose to go with 100% virgin polyurethane elastomer is a flexible, resilient, and highly durable engineering plastic in comparison to other cheaper and recycled composites currently available in the market for RUN FLAT INSERTS, such as PA6 – known as polyamide, or combinations of  Nylon, and composites, which mostly consists of   cheap recycled materials. Polyurethane esters offer excellent abrasion resistance and high chemical and oil resistance,  suited ideally for immense load bearing capacity, rebounding  properties with low heat built up,  particularly proven in mining and aggregate screening industry etc  for decades.  Polyurethane esters due to its good balance of physical properties provides excellent damping solutions such as shock and vibration absorbers, characteristics and qualities to meet grueling specific requirements of run-flat inserts, where much human life depends on it under hostile conditions. So a special polyester combination was developed for POLYMET after repeated testing to meet the off-road off-course, harsh and hot desert conditions of the Middle East through a prominent lab facility in Europe for run flat inserts.

POLYMET tested and certified independently

Run flat insert system offered by POLYMET were tested repeatedly in grueling desert track of RAK with rubbles, dry crossings, having a number of obstacles such as natural ramps, steps formed in a wadi, ditches as well as gravel tracks with corrugations and loose sand pits – real hostile desert conditions of temperature ranging from 30 C to 50 C in a Loaded Toyota Hilux, loaded above its GVW gross weight of the vehicle.

In June 2022 – the test Vehicle was diagonally fitted with POLYMET Run Flat inserts, with absolute “ZERO “ air, was driven through the grueling desert track of RAK with rubbles, dry crossings, having a number of obstacles such as natural ramps, steps formed in the wadi, ditches as well as gravel tracks with corrugations, covered a total distance of 69.14 km in 02:08:17 “none stop, attained an average speed of 32.3 Km/h meeting FINABEL agreement mandate  – 2.3.2 b) travel off-road cross country for 2 hours at a speed of approximately 30 km/hr without the tire leaving the wheel rim or shredding. The vehicle was stopped as it passed over 60 km at 30 km/h, as per the FINABEL benchmark, tires, run flat inserts and rims were still in drivable conditions.  The temperature of desert gravel was from 35° C at starting to 50°C by noon and run-flat inserts and tire temperate were in 35 °C to 80 °C . The full run was verified and witnessed by International acclaimed 3rd party inspectors.
